Sugar Creek United Methodist Church has two proud mothers of young children with Down Syndrome.  One with a boy and one with a girl.  They both host a Down Syndrome baby play group at the church on the second Monday of every month at 9:00a.m..  If you’d like to join us, you may contact either Deb (Gossrow3@comcast.net) or Amanda (ldfrdfam5@aol.com).  Ages for baby group are birth through pre-school.

DO YOU LIKE TO SERVE OTHERS?  The Evangelism Committee is looking for volunteers to cook meals that we can take to others in need, both within our church setting and outside.  Meals can be made at home and brought in, or if preferred, groups can set up a time to get together to prepare meals and have fellowship time.  This is a great ministry and is an easy way to help  others without so much stress on one person, if we have an organized group.  The goal is to make meals once a month and store them until needed.  Please contact the church  office (483-2270) to sign up.

Remember those who defend our freedom. As military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan continue, it’s easy for those of us without immediate family members in the military to slip into compassion fatigue. While it’s true that many of our military personnel have rotated back to the US, for which we are deeply grateful, it’s also true that a number of other servicemen and servicewomen have been rotated back to Iraq and others are scheduled to returned there within the next month or so. Please pick up an updated military prayer list and continue to pray for these brave men and women and their families. If you have a service person in your family, please help us keep our list accurate and continue to supply us with copies of pictures, email, letters, etc. so that we can keep them in our hearts and minds and lift their name (and yours) to God.
