Solar Power Update

Using God’s gift of bountiful energy form the sun to power the mission and ministries of Sugar Creek UMC.

120 PANELS @ 388.00 EACH
OUR GOAL IS $46,560.00

$5,700 in donations received as of 3/31/24

As of February 25 the Trustees of Sugar Creek UMC have entered into a solar power program with Route 66 Solar, a Springfield based company for over twelve years.

The system we are purchasing is 5% more than what we will actually need to provide power to the building. The system will be ground mounted with 120 panels. The cost for the system is $128,700, which will cover everything to have the system up and running by April 24. We will also be receiving an IRS tax credit, a State tax credit, and a power company credit for going solar, which we will receive over the next three or three and a half years.

After deducting all of the credits Sugar Creek will actually be paying $46,560.00 for the system. We will see the reduction in our electrical bill starting in April.

Help us reach our $46,560.00 goal! Look for donation envelopes on the wall right outside the Fellowship Hall doors across from the Church Office.

Your gifts of support are greatly appreciated!
