As of June 16 more than 5,800 churches have disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church across the United States. Several of you have had questions and concerns about so many churches disaffiliating. We’ve asked Paul Black, Director of Communication Ministries for the Illinois Great Rivers Conference to lead an informational discussion and Q & A session on disaffiliation of churches from The United Methodist Church connection.
If you have questions, or just want a better understanding of what is going on in The United Methodist Church, please join us on Sunday, September 24 immediately following the 11:00 AM service in the church fellowship hall. Please note this is “informational only” as Sugar Creek isn’t planning to disaffiliate. Previous to the discussion we will hold a potluck luncheon, so please bring a covered dish and/or a dessert to share.
