When you feel called to deepen your faith and express your joy in Christ’s Love, joining a Service Team is for you. Sugar Creek extends a multitude of ways to be of service to God’s Church both for the worship services and during the week. Find which area fits you the best and get connected.
Share your faith and love with the kids and youth of Sugar Creek UMC through inspiring Bible lessons and exciting activities. Ways to serve include:
Follow up with a phone call after someone has been discharged from the hospital.
Serve communion during worship on a rotating basis. At Sugar Creek, we offer communion at least once each month on the first Sunday.
Greet, usher, and welcome people as they arrive on site, or help with the coffee ministry. Ensure that our guests and all who attend Sugar Creek UMC feel God’s love and are connected to the faith community.
Help provide a comforting meal following a funeral for grieving families. This time allows them to share cherished memories and celebrate the life of their loved one. Opportunities include preparing food in our church kitchen, serving the family, cleaning up, or bringing a salad or dessert to compliment the meal.
Children are an important part of worship. If you feel called to deliver a message stripped down in words kids can understand, this is for you.
We love to include new people in our Adult Music Ministries. Our Sanctuary Choir performs weekly during the 9:00am worship service.
Help around the office in a variety of ways including answering phones, organizing papers, light desk work, stuffing worship programs, and lots more.
Join other prayer warriors immediately following the 9:00am service on the second and fourth Sundays for brief time of sharing in our community joys and concerns, prayers, and praises.
Prepare the congregation to receive God’s Holy Word by reading scripture, offering a centering prayer, and lifting up the prayers of the community.
Knit prayer shawls to provide comfort to those who are ill.
Help to create an engaging worship experience at Sugar Creek during both the traditional and blended worship services. This team controls and monitors the audio, video, lighting, and online web stream during worship. No prior experience is needed – just a love of God and a willingness to serve.
Worship Ushers assist during the 9:00am service passing the offering baskets collecting community tithes and offerings.
Ensure that the Worship Center is prepared, including setting up communion, lighting candles, pews are cleaned and organized, and worship elements are in place.
